Scholarship Application Help

Hey, I got into CSU and I'm kinda confused about their scholarship app. I would really appreciate some help with it.

What questions do you have?

Well first off, for some reason I'm getting the feeling that I shouldn't fill out the app until I've decided to go there and I'm not sure yet. Should I go ahaead and fill it out anyway? And when do they make let you know what, if any, scholarships you get?

Congratulations! I'm a transfer student, and I will be attending CSU next semester. It's a great school.

If finances will be a factor in deciding which college is best for you, I would highly recommend filling out scholarship and/or financial aid apps as soon as possible. For some freshman scholarships, you will be considered for automatically if you meet their requirements. Take a look at the website and call the admissions office or the office of student financial services if you have any questions. I'm sure they'd be happy to help.

Here is a link to a website that may be of some help if you haven't gone over it already. Scroll to the bottom for phone numbers and addresses of the offices I just mentioned! http://sfs.colostate.edu/J26010.cfm

Just a comment/perception...from the application it doesn't look like there is much money available except for very specific people (In state, Need based, specific majors and URM for examples). For an OOS student that is disappointing.

Thoughts or insights anyone???

I noticed that, too, believersmom, and I agree with you. As an out-of-stater it's very disappointing because everything else about CSU is perfect for me except that. Money is a big concern for me and without a good financial aid package I won't be able to attend. I live in NY and travel alone would be a killer.

I wish more people from the Western schools/states were on this board. the thing that makes me nervous is that when there is not enough money for scholarships, there is not enough money for other things. That is when departments get cut, etc. Also, the NSSE survey results are out and CSU for some reason is choosing not to make theirs public either on their website OR on the NSSE/USA Today ones.

Just because some schools throw all that money around simply shows they have money to waste. CSU gives a great education plus gives you all the things that are really important in life. It's just so few schools do it, that when some people see it, they can't understand it. Spend time on campus, talk to students, talk to professors. You'll see.

"Just because some schools throw all that money around simply shows they have money to waste."

Scholarships are a waste of money? Huh? Generally scholarships are a top priority for a university as that is how they draw/retain the top students.

"It's just so few schools do it, that when some people see it, they can't understand it."
Do what?
