Scholarship Application

Today I filled out my application to the University. I was also planning on applying for scholarships as well, and went to the separate page. However, the log in was different than the one I had just created to make the application (it was called MyBama or something of the like). Do I create a new account, or do I need to be accepted before I can fill out the scholarship application and they give me my user name and password? Thank you in advance!!!

You may need to wait until you are accepted to fill out all the different scholarship applications. If you filed today, you should here something within the next three weeks or so, depending on getting your transcript to UA. Also, take a look at the Honors College (should you be eligible) and consider applying to University, Computer-Based and Fellows. If you are more into the liberal arts, look at the Blount program. When accepted, you will receive your CWID (student ID) as well as password for your mybama account.

You don’t usually have to wait until you’re accepted to have access to the scholarship application.

Supposedly, Bama uses one form for all freshmen scholarships (except I’ve heard that College of Education may have their own application).

I don’t think you have to wait until you’re accepted to have access to mybama. As a matter of fact, many kids found out that they were accepted by checking mybama everyday and when the honors application appeared, they knew that they were accepted.

The way it has worked in the past is this… a short-time after applying, the school sends an email with directions for setting up your logon for mybama. After you do that, you can apply for scholarships. I think your CWID is given at that time, too.

However, since Bama is short-staffed during the summer months, you may not get that email for a few weeks. When you do get it, then you can set up your logon for mybama and do the scholarship app.

You can’t apply to the honors college until you’re accepted.

My youngest son applied on line two weeks ago. He too ran into the same problem. I sent a note asking if the log-on for myBama would be the same. I received a reply stating that the applicant will recieve an e-mail with instructions and a NEW PASSWORD. So we wait…
