Scholarship asks for Federal Income Tax form?

I’m applying to a scholarship and it asks for my parents’ federal income tax form 1040. It has my parents social security number and mine on it. Should I do it?

International scholarship and Tuition Services seems to ask for the 1040 form for whatever scholarship I apply to.

What confuses me is that they don’t ask for my SAR (like other scholarships) which could easily determine if my parents’ income is within their limits.

Get a permanent marker and black out the SS numbers.

My daughter applied to some local scholarships and like thumper1 suggested I blacked out the soc sec numbers of all family members and our bank information on our 1040.

I tried contacting these scholarships but haven’t received any great responses yet. Has anyone done these scholarships with ISTS(international scholarship and tuition services)?

@thumper1 Can I cut out the SSN from the tax form instead?

Instead of cutting or blocking the whole number, you may leave a few digits for verification purpose.

@thumper1 I blacked out my SSN on my tax form with a permanent sharpie and when i looked at it from a different angle and lighting I could see the SSN.
I settled on cutting out the whole thing.

Black out, then make a copy. No weird holes on the paper, but should just have a solid wad of black where the numbers were.
