I would look for word about your son’s scholarship within the next two to three weeks. However, if he is a NM semifinalist (and later becomes a finalist), the NM scholarships will not be announced until the spring. Same thing with departmental scholarships.

*Aw, lucky!! Have a Double Double from In N Out for me. (: *

I had In n Out today…but not the Double Double. LOL

*My son got his acceptance today (that was fast). I was expecting the financial info to come along with the acceptance, but I gather from this thread that they are separate mailings. How long did it take to get the scholarship info after all the student received the acceptance? Thanks–I know there will be many more questions from our family! *

Yes…separate covers.

Congrats on acceptance!

What scholarship is your son eligible for?

If he’s eligible for Presidential, then the award should come soon. If he’s eligible for a lesser scholarship, then there may be a delay in case your child retests and becomes eligible for a higher scholarship.

He is eligible for the Presidential. He is a NMSF–he is working on his application/essay for finalist. He is going into engineering so I think there may be something from that college also.

This has all happened very quickly–it is nice to have an acceptance!

If I remember correctly, the engineering scholarships get sent later in fall or early winter. It will come, but not as soon as the Presidential one will.

your son will get the Presidential notification soon…then he’ll get the rest of the NMF scholarship notification after he’s named a NMF in February.
