scholarship chance

I know that an awesome amount of students applied last year and made the admission/scholarship process all crazy. After looking through threads from the last couple years I thought that I might be eligible for an academic scholarship of some kind, but I don't really know how much higher their standards are now.

I have:

3.9 gpa
770/730/660 SAT
710/690/670 SAT 2

I have good but not great ECs, and my essay and recs should be good, but I plan on applying Early Action so I don't think they use the essay (right?).

What do you think? I would probably need 20k+/year to attend, is that realistic? If so, what can I do to help my chances at it? because I do really love tulane

I’d say you have a pretty good chance at getting at least 20k. The only thing I can think of to help increase your chances is to apply as early as possible, because I know this year the money ran out early and students who applied later got fewer scholarship offers than less-qualified students who applied earlier.

I had similar stats and received the 24k. I did apply in November, however. I highly recommend applying as soon as you can, if you know you’re interested. Although last year the load of apps may have been unexpected/unpredictable, this year it should be expected.

I applied early action (as I said), and in the application I filled out, I did put an essay. If I recall correctly, it was optional, and I have no clue if it was even considered, but nonetheless, doesn’t hurt.

Congrats on getting the 24k.

Yeah I will definitely apply early action, and I’ll submit my essay if it’s optional.

Can you apply early/late within the early action period, like a rolling admissions period, or does it not matter as long as you get your app in before the early action deadline? If it matters I will do my best to get it in asap, because I’d hate to lose out because I was a week late or something.
