Scholarship Chances

Hi,

I know these are annoying, but I was wondering if I could receive chances for admission/any possible merit scholarships. I'm an OOS student, but I've spent a lot of time at Maryland for the National History Day competition and have a good friend that goes there, and I'd love to go there. I have a full scholarship at Rutgers, however, so it wouldn't be prudent for me to go to UMD unless I had a significant scholarship. Can anyone give me some advice on how much money I can expect? I don't know that much about UMD's scholarship prospects, but based on my friend's grades and ECs, I only expect a small scholarship :/

Thanks for the responses :)

Why don’t you wait until they tell you? There is no exact formula for scholarships, and you only have to wait till mid february. The guesses of anonymous persons are not very accurate.

Those are actually really good stats. I wouldn’t be surprised if you were a B/K recipient.

Thanks  The only reason that I asked really is that
a) If there’s a real likelihood that I’m a B/K semifinalist, getting down to CP (a 4 hour drive) would require some planning on my part.
b) I’d like to know what is realistic to expect as an out-of-state student.

I think you have a very good chance for some sort of merit scholarship. I know what you are saying. I live in California and I am waiting to hear about B/K scholarship before I make plans to visit UMD
