Scholarship chances?

I was admitted to UCF Fall 2014. They received all my paperwork Dec. 9th (was a bit late with the application!) and I was notified on myUCF of my acceptance 10 days later on the 19th. I just received the official acceptance letter, but nothing about scholarships. I've been trying to find the criteria they use. I am OOS so I really need the money. I'm a bit worried as my SAT was on the lower end. Can someone tell me if I have any chance of receiving an OOS waiver?

I'm from a single parent home with <$30,000 yearly income, so I could really use the help!

Hey! Well I am kinda in a similar position as you. similar SATs, GPA and come from a single parent home too dual enrollment etc. I emailed them about scholarships, and they said they would not give me any merit scholarship, since my scores would need to surpass the average of students admitted. So that would be a 1245 SAT CR+M and/or 27 ACT. But they do have aids, that are really helpful that they can offer you. So you would need to call or contact the office of Financial Aid. Hope this helps and good luck

Thanks Nicole - are you OOS as well and did you apply for Fall? I’m a bit short of the 1245 so I’m wondering if I can take the SAT again. We’ll be filling out the FASFA soon and then I will call them after that and see what kind of help I can get. I’m basically just looking for the OOS tuition waiver which from what I read is part merit and part need based.

No problem! And No I actually live in Orlando and I applied for Summer since I live right there. Yeah, I feel you I’m close but I am taking the upcoming Jan. SAT. Yeah, fill out FAFSA as soon as possible, because I think UCF, from what I have heard gives a lot of aid. I hope you get something!!
