What kind of scholarship will USD offer me?
I go to a prestigious Catholic High School in the midwest.
Im ranked top 4 in a class of over 200.
My SAT's r a lil below 2300.
Excellent E.C.
Good Recs.

Can only give you my D's stats, who was offered $15000 a year for 4 years. She went to a small Christian HS (class of 100), had excellent ecs and recs, SATs just over 2100, gpa 4.4. Very involved in our Catholic parish. In-state also. Sounds to me like you have an excellent chance for a scholarship.

It sounds like you have a very good chance at a scholarship. My sister had over a 4.0 W, was class president, and had a ton of EC's and received a $15,000 scholarship as well.

"You have been offered the highest merit award available which is our Trustee Scholarship of $17,500 per year."
I won it~~

vitamin-ac, congratulations on your scholarship!

I got 17500 also. I live in Oregon and I have a 3.5 uw gpa. I do take a lot of IB classes and I got good SAT scores (760w,710m,670r)(790phys,780mth2)

I got the Trustee Scholarship, also. I had a 3.61 Unweighted, 31 on my ACTs.
Took 5 APs and 3 Honors classes.

Not that 15K, 17.5k isn't a lot, but I'd need like 30k in scholarships, to make the cost about 20k of contribution from me and my parents. Is it possible at USD? I'd have pretty good stats, but probably not enough if they do give bigger scholarships.

Thanks

Their highest merit is $17,500, sorry...

The scholarships run from $10K to $17,500. Not everyone who has the same stats gets the same amount. Some get zero though, with similar stats.

They are generous as a school - but not sure with the current endowments being lower if they are offering less in scholarships this year.

i received a $10,000 scholarship but i also need lots more financial aid to attend if I am going to attend, but i'm positive theyre going to help me out wayy more based on my FAFSA report

The FA package, even with the scholarship was very heavily weighted toward loans, including PLUS loans. Our EFC was just about half of USD's total expected cost of attendance.

It doesn't seem workable.
