I was provisionally accepted to Clemson in April of 2009.
I applied in August.
I haven't been officially accepted yet
My SAT score is 1380, 710 Math, 670 Critical Reading
My Class rank is 55 out of 432, meaning I am just outside of the top 10%, 13th% to be exact.
I hear that you need to have a 1350+ SAT score and a class rank in the top 10% to have a good chance at a scholarship. I have the SAT score but my class rank missed by a hair.
I am sure I'll be accepted to 2 weeks but do I have a shot at getting any scholarship money? I go to the best public school in South Carolina if that makes any difference. I'm sure I'd be in the top 10% at the average SC public school.

Ouch your class rank is just outside of the 10% requirement. If your high school is good enough and your GPA is really good, maybe they’ll give you an exception but I don’t know if you will get a scholarship.

You live in SC right so you have Palmetto and Life scholarships? don’t know much about the SC scholarships.

bump ^^^^^^

I would tend to agree with pierre. With so many students looking for financial assistance, the cutoffs become necessary. However, I believe the 10% class rank requirement (and other stats mentioned) is to qualify for the OOS tuition waiver so there may be a different set of criteria for in-state applicants. As suggested, I would look into the scholarships/aid outside of Clemson as well. Good luck!
