Did you recieve the invitation letter before the invitation shoed up in your portal? What is the date of scholarship day?

**** showed

everyone, just CHILL. chances are, none of you were invited to this program, because i think only about 130 people are invited. just wait until the mail comes, or just check your portal every so often. or, if “worse comes to worst,” you’ll just find out on the 31st if you were even accepted to UNC!

way to be a jerk. calm down, its not our fault that we are nervous. if you really care that much, dont read this thread

I’m really excited for the mail to come!!! But nothing appeared on my portal. which is disappointing.

im in the same boat. i hate federal holidays when the mail doesnt come. lol :D

I was readig Brangelinas post and she said that two out of the three friends that got scholarship day invites got likely letters. So there is a connection.

A database of three people cannot prove a connection. It would seem that way, yes, but two people who got both could easily be a coincidence.

I guess you are right. But I’m going to remain confident.

Oh dear! I’m just gonna try not to think about this. hahah. I’m OOS and I got a likely letter but just hoping for an acceptance at this point. If this nifty scholarship day letter comes, that’ll just be the cherry on top! If not, oh well. Let’s just hope for the best on the 31st Good luck everyone! Don’t stress yourself out!

Scholarship Day is Feb 12, but someone said that the Admissions Blog has said that the date will be pushed back just like the date of the admissions decision, but until I hear otherwise it is happening on February 12.

And there definitely isn’t a connection; I think those two people represent a coincidence because I didn’t get a likely letter or invited to the Shadow Program yet I’ve been invited to Scholarship Day. That being said, I don’t know if the invitation shows up in the same place in the portal as the Shadow Program’s invitation… I assume it does. There’s a place in your Student Center where you can click to view your event invitations.

Also, I’m not really sure which one showed up first. I got home at around midnight and saw the invitation, and I didn’t bother to check my portal until the next day. In the portal it says that registration is open from Jan 15 to Feb 2, and the invitation was sent on Jan 15, so I think it probably showed up in the portal on the 15th.

And stat-wise:
In-state female; SAT:
CR: 680
W: 720
M: 640
Mainly A’s and a few B’s; Honors and AP classes

@ brangelinaaa - not to interfere, but it seems to me that you’re being a little unnecessarily rude and insensitive about this. the point you made about like 130 people being invited is valid, not many of us are going to get invites, but i think it’s safe to say that everyone here is pretty nervous about scholarship day and getting into UNC at all, and your attitude towards it isn’t going to be received well…

that being said…i haven’t heard of anyone around here getting invites yet i live in raleigh, btw.

Don’t worry whether or not you get an invite. Very few people do. I received a likely letter and an acceptance into the honors program, along with the Morehead-Cain scholarship, and didn’t get an invite (OOS). It’s definitely an honor if you get one, but don’t stress about it.

In order to get accepted into the honors program for your freshman year, do you have to get a academic scholarship of some kind? I know you can apply during your freshman year and get into the honors program in your sophomore year, but how do you get accepted your freshman year?

@brangelinaaa - your comment was incredibly rude and hopefully you will be the one to end up with egg on your face. If you had bothered to check you would have seen that Tarheel151 received a likely letter awhile back and will be attending the shadow program. It’s more than likely that he will be accepted. I don’t see any reference to your having received such a letter, so I wouldn’t be quite so overconfident just yet…

if you feel that strongly about it then leave the site. nobody will miss you. let us help each other out and leave us be. please

Well said, Tarheel151. This is a site to lend support to one another. There’s no place for rudeness and ridicule.

OldWell, do you get into the honors program if you get the Morehead-Cain scholarship?

Looked in portal after looking at this blog tonight – received scholarship invite for Feb. 12 – have not received one as of yet by mail – probably tomorrow because of MLK Day.

Best wishes to everyone . . . I know this is a stressful time . . .

Well if they posted all the scholarship day invites up in the portal, I guess no look has come my way. But thats okay I will be happy to just get in. And I am still looking at an AFROTC scholarship. So no worries. Good Luck to everyone else.
