Scholarship Deadline

So I'm trying to get on top of my applications and I have a couple questions.

For the scholarship deadline, does the whole application have to be sent in? Like do they have to have your application, scholarship application, transcripts, and test scores all in their hands? Or what if the stuff is in the mail, going to be in their hands soon? Do you just have to submit the scholarship portion?

Also, for the essays you have to submit, do you have to submit A&B if you're not doing an honors program, or could I submit say A&F?

Hmmm, I actually have a similar question, except with my SAT report. I don't know if it's necessary to rush report it to make the Dec. 1st deadline, or if it'll be okay as long as I order it before Dec. 1st, since they need time to process apps. anyway.

So, yes. I second this question.

I third this question. I don't want to rush through my essays on my regular application to get it in by Dec 1st.

So after digging around for a long time I came up with a sort-of-answer.

First off, no, you do not have to submit the regular APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION on the Dec. 1 deadline. You only have to submit the APPLICATION FOR SCHOLARSHIPS.

However, I'm not sure if there are any benefits to submitting the application for admission by the deadline. Additionally, I believe you have to submit essays A&B with the scholarship application.

Yeah, you have to submit essays A&B for the admissions app with the scholarship app.

OK, so can we go over this again?

I haven't submitted my UT application yet because I am still really toying with the idea of which majors/schools I want to apply to.

How do you submit the scholarship application without submitting the admissions app? I know you have to have essays A & B and possibly some others, but I'm just wondering how exactly you go about accessing the scholarship application and/or filling it out if you haven't already submitted the other one?

I am making this way more complicated than it needs to be...but please, somebody review!

You have to finish up to page 3 of your Admissions App
Then you have the option of starting your Scholarship App

Are you having trouble finding the scholarship app? Once you finnish 3 pages of your app for admission go to the main applications page. Then scroll down and there will be a section where you can start scholarship apps.

So you do not need to finish your essays? I just don't want to rush through them.

Oh, I totally didn't even realize where to find the scholarship app...

So, just to say this again, lol: up to page three of the regular admission app., the scholarship app., the app. fee, and essays A & B are due Dec. 1st? All the other stuff and honors program app. things can be turned in later?

Well you don't have to submit up to page 3 of the regular admission app. You just have to complete it to access the scholarship app.

But yes, you got the rest correct. =)

Thanks for the help. :)

Are there any benefits to submitting the admission application with the scholarship application? Any penalties for submitting the admission application later?

I doubt there would be penalties for submitting the application later as long as you have the scholarship app. in on time. It's not a big deal.

I read the list of scholarships and didn't see that many that I'd qualify for, so now I'm kind of undecided if I should rush to finish by Dec. 1. Hm.

Just wondering: is there a deadline time for Dec. 1st? 5 pm? 12 midnight?

Straight from the Texas scholarship website

"The deadline for submitting this application is December 1st, Midnight (CST) of the year prior to entering UT Austin. "

Okay, thanks.

So that means it has to be in before the 1st and not before the end of the 1st, correct? [since 12:00 is the first minute of Dec. 1st]

Sucks because I need to write both essays and I have work tomorrow :/
