I don’t know if there’s a central scholarship thread on here, but I’ll post this here. I still don’t have a scholarship offer but I emailed the financial aid office regarding the scholarship amounts and got the following response:

"The Office of Undergraduate Admissions offers several types of merit scholarships to incoming first year students. Our awards range from $6,000 to $40,000 (distributed over eight undergraduate semesters). All admitted students are considered for merit scholarships and those students that are awarded a scholarship arre notified via mail and on their myUCF portal

Elizabeth M. Costello"

So a pretty generic response but those are the prices ranges from highest to lowest.

Has anyone heard about the larger scholarships yet (Provost)?
My son still hasn’t been notified at all (other than someone from Burnett calling to make sure that he recieved his honors application and ask if he had any questions…very nice touch).

Anonymoushorse7 - My son’s stats are posted in the stats profile above. He also has 13 AP classes and over 400 community service hours. Good luck to you. What are your stats (I didn’t see them listed in the UCF stats profiles)?

seiclan> Ooh I should do that… but here’s my stats, quite similar. Thanks and good luck to your son too! :D

SAT: 1420 M + R, (2110 740 CR, 680 M, 690 W) ← scores after I got into UCF, when I got it was when I had a 2050 superscored… 1370 I believe M+R
ACT: 31
GPA: 3.9 UW/ 5.0 W (No dual enrollment)
Rank: 3/ 650+
-180 hours of community service

Over the course of my high school career I’d have taken 18 exams… but that doesn’t mean anything. I’ll be taking 8 this year… and so far passed 7/10 but mainly borderline. mostly 3’s won’t get me outta much. :/

I get so nervous checking my.ucf… I still haven’t received a scholarship. Do they consider if you have already paid the enrollment amount or not? I already paid… but isn’t it nonbinding? I hope that doesn’t make a difference. :(

Anonymous, my son also hasn’t heard from the scholarship front. I think that it is a good thing…I really think you guys (since your stats are close to each other) might be getting Provost (20K).

We did not deposit for UCF since my son is waiting on other schools first and the deposit is not refundable. Whether or not you deposited does not matter for scholarship awards.

seiclan> that would be so awesome! I’m really hoping… if I get provost, I very likely will attend UCF… and choosing between UCF and UF is already difficult enough!

I hope you’re right seiclan, and that since we haven’t heard anything we might be getting Provosts. Perhaps that’s why Burnett accepted me in less than a week?

My son got the Provost Scholarship!!! Hooray!
It is listed today on his myUCF. Does anyone know how long the extension is if we click extend (instead of accept/deny)?
