By looking at old posts in CC it seems as though the scholarship decisions will be coming out in the next week or two. I figured I would start a thread because I know I am personally stressing out about this a lot.

I applied for the moog scholarship as I want to be a chem major. Also (if i get accepted) i plan to double major in PNP with a focus in neuroscience so that scholarship was perfect for both my interests.

What scholarships did everyone else apply for?

D applied for some scholarships, she wants to major in Engineering. I don’t know what she applied for, I just paid the postage. I don’t think she’ll be attending if she gets accepted without a scholarship.

Wash U gives a lot of need based financial aid and very little merit scholarship. Many people post that if they don’t get a scholarship they will not be attending. What about the financial aid? I believe merit scholarships are offered to less than 1% of the accepted students at Wash U (not likely).

I applied for Rodriguez and the Summer Scholars in Biomedical research. I got accepted early decision however so my attending isn’t contingent upon these awards.

i have never really posted stats before so I am not sure if that is everything I should post.

So, I know that none of us actually know exactly when we will find out- but do you think there is any chance that it will be this weekend?! I’m starting to get anxious!

does anyone know if the people who get the engineering academic fellowships are usually/almost always people who were heavily involved in research during high school?

I’m dying from waiting. How many finalists are there for each scholarship and are others more competitive than others? I applied to Lien… fingers crossed everyone!

I do not know specifically for the engineering fellowship but I know someone who won the moog scholarship and he said that many of the finalists had previous research experience so I am sure the engineering one is the same. On the other hand, he also told me it is based more on why you chose the research/ why you are interested in it. I don’t what your essay question was, but for moog it was to talk about a research project.

Sunshine4:

I hear about 500 apply for each scholarship and I know 4 are chosen for the full scholarship and 4 for the half scholarship so as a min they will be picking at least 8 people to be finalists for each in the honorary scholars program.
