Scholarship info for MSU

I just got accepted a few days ago and I’m looking at some of the scholarships they offer and was wondering how I apply for them? I applied early decision and I’m out of state…where would I go to apply? Or do I need to do something else?

Thanks :slight_smile:

Congratulations! You’ll automatically be considered for scholarships at MSU from your application. However, check out https://admissions.msu.edu/cost-aid/merit-based-aid/freshman/default.aspx to see if there are additional opportunities based on specific criteria not gathered on our application that you might apply for.

@msuadmissions thanks! When should I be finding out if I received a scholarship?

We attended the general admission tour at the beginning of November, and the speaker said they were already sending out scholarships.

@saulgood gotcha. Thanks :slight_smile:

Anyone received scholarship notice?

My son received his acceptance about three weeks ago. He received his scholarship information earlier this week.

@icbmah gotcha thanks

@icbmah How did your son receive his scholarship information. Is it available on his MSU portal. I was accepted this Tuesday. Have been looking at the Portal to see if there are any information on scholarships

He received $15,000 plus a $5,000 study abroad scholarship. He found out the old-fashioned way–a big envelope in the mail

I received scholarship info with my Honors College acceptance and it said that I would have more info coming later about the ADS competition.

Has anyone received an email from honor college about a brief interview via Skype?

@binky66 Good luck!!! The interview is for MSU’s top scholarship - a very, very nice full ride (UDS). Usually 8 are awarded.

@itsgettingreal17, thank you for the information.

My son was accepted several weeks ago. Does anyone know how long it takes to find out if he will get a scholarship?

@fraidycat , Not sure. I am also in the same boat. I was accepted on Nov 14th. Haven’t heard anything about scholarships or honor college. It would be nice if everyone who has already received some kind of scholarships would post their acceptance date and when they received any information on scholarships

@icbmah Was he accepted into the honors college? Can you share his stats?

those of you who were accepted to the honors college, can you share your information/stats?

My daughter got an invitation to the honors college in early November - also offered professorial assistantship and tuition grant (for out of state). Also offered study abroad scholarship of 3-5k.
Unweighted GPA 3.98 and ACT 33, lots of extracurriculars.

To oceanmountain, my son did not apply to the Honors College. He is OOS. GPA is 3.88 UW, 4.23 W. 1430 SAT.
