so does that mean i got accepted?
and if i'm getting accepted now, am i up for scholarships..? or is it over already?
i applied by the dec.10 deadline

yeah. I got my acceptance last week and letter for the bacc/md interview today but no sign of scholarships. I also logged onto that website and it does not tell me about any scholarships when I hit reserve for explore. I am also national merit. Does this mean I am definetely not up for a scholarship? Also, are you guarunteed 1/2 tuition if you are national merit?

mjchiu2k, inthemoney, i'm in the same exact situation =/ i have national merit...but it'd be nice to hear about the scholarship all the same. i logged into the site and found nothing but the regular usc explore dates without any mention of presidential/trustee/deans. are we the only three people on the site without anything? LOL

hmm weird im national merit, so are you and inthemoney.. and so is my friend in az who also hasn't heard anything... WEIRD... its some what comforting knowing I'm not the only one... although getting a scholarship would be more comforting >.<

epicylical... how would they know if we are national merit tho.. i can't remember the application, but i don't think that was a question was it? and if so, how would they confirm it... I mean each state has a different cut off making it hard to know if someone is national merit just based on their psat score. I don't know, it doesn't seem reasonable that they would purposely not give NM kids an opportunity for scholarships..esp big scholarships such as the trustee.

My D is (I guess) NM...(although we haven't heard about Finalist status)...and is up for the Trustee. She is considering it (her best friend and other friends are there) even though she already was accepted SCEA Stanford and is a finalist for the Morehead at UNC.

exciting stuff. Im from the UK, applied for USC really early but forgot that made me eligible for scholarships, got my acceptance letter late january... then yesterday i got an email about the presidential... im like.. huh? followed by frantic research. Sounds good in terms of money saved, plus i now have an excuse to scoot off to LA for a week in march (thats exciting if you live in england haha, btw), scholarship awarded as a result or not.

I called USC today and got a bit deflated. USC admission office said early acceptance does not necessarily mean there will be scholarship. Congrats to those who got invited for trustee and presidential scholarships.

is there anyone else who thinks they really should have received a letter by now but has not as of 2/6?? such asmyself? waiting here in the windy city for some good news...
maybe today!?!?!

yeah i havent gotten a letter for the scholarships.. i dont think im getting one. i called the adcom and they said that if you are getting one it should have already arrived by mail. meh, this kinda sucks (as all reality checks do).. but i guess its life. perhaps this is a sign that usc is not meant for me. w/o $$ in the picture, its a lot easier for me to pick a school such as caltech over usc

@caliboy--so did u also get a letter from the b/md program.. or same as in NM? I find it EXTREMELY strange that we get early acceptance letters w/o scholarship interviews. why did they even bother sending us our letters early?

perhaps. but sending a letter early and not offering scholarship is just cruel! i assumed i would be up for either trustee or presidential since thats what i had read, but i was clearly mistaken. Getting your hopes up only to be let down is not exactly fun. i would concur that anxiously waiting to hear from them isnt a walk in the park either.
