Anyone already had an interview for competitive scholarships at Kentucky for 2014? Previous years' posts indicate Singletary Scholarship interviews typically happen in the first part of January. I was hoping my daughter would get a chance to interview for the Singletary Scholarship, but it's getting late in the process, and no invitation yet. :(

I’m waiting to see if I get an invitation to interview as well. When did your daughter apply? It says on the website- [Academic Scholarship FAQ | UK Student Financial Aid and Scholarships](Academic Scholarship FAQ | UK Student Financial Aid and Scholarships) - that people chosen for Singletary Scholarship interviews are notified on a rolling basis by phone before mid-February. It says interviews started in November and go through February, but I’m guessing if she applied closer to the deadline like I did (later in December) they probably would take a while to notify her if she was going to be able to interview. After all, the deadline for competitive scholarships just ended January 15th. I wouldn’t give up yet! Best of luck to your daughter!

Thanks, @meeshiemoo. Indeed, my daughter did apply about mid-December, so it is possible that she will still get a call. Good luck to you as well! I’m glad you took the time to respond. Thank you.

I applied back at the beginning of November and about two weeks later I got the call for an interview at the end of November. Good luck!

@ILfather, have you heard anything yet? Candidates who interviewed were told they would hear about scholarships in the first couple of weeks in February.

No, nothing yet, @writeastory. I was hoping my daugher would have the chance to experience the interview process, If she does get a call, I’ll post something on CC, but unless UK is running very late with this process this year, I don’t think she’s going to get that chance. Are you or someone you know waiting on a chance? If so, good luck to you.

Thank you. Yes, my daughter and her friend both interviewed for the competitive scholarships at UK. We are out of state. It does seem like most candidates are from KY, although definitely not all. Where else is your daughter looking?

Good luck to your daughter and her friend, @writeastory. Kentucky is the forerunner for my daughter of the schools at which she has been accepted. Still waiting for UNC and Washington University in St. Louis. Would need some very competitive scholarships for either of those two options, so I suspect she will be a Wildcat next fall. Thanks for updating us on your daughter’s status. I hope she get the Singletary Scholarship.
