Scholarship Interviews

My daughter is invited to a "Presidential Scholarship" day this Saturday at the private school of her choice here in Ohio. She will be interviewed, have to complete some "tasks", perhaps do some group work and maybe have to write something.

Any advice for me to share with her? She is very personable, a good talker etc. and is comfortable and confident in "speaking" assignments. My best advice to her has of course been to be herself and to not be afraid to take a second (or two or three) to formulate her answers when she is asked questions...

She's already been offered some $$ from this university, but of course these scholarships are for the big $$$$.

Any advice appreciated or share any past experiences...

Take a copy of brag sheet and be herself. Good luck :)

Google, look on the college's web site and use CC to find profiles about past scholarship winners. She then should think about ways to highlight aspects of herself that appear similar to the scholarship winners' characteristics. She also may be able to contact scholarship winners and ask their advice.

In addition, she should read the college's web site to find out what kind of things it values. That way, she'll know what to highlight in her interview.

Best of luck!

Good advice! I'll definitely have her check out the website better to see what they may be interested in...!
