My son heard of someone, who lives in NC, receiving a scholarship letter yesterday or the day before. He does not know if this person was invited to the Scholarship Day or not. Will keep you posted.

New Jersey Mom, I was on the parent chat 2 weeks ago and they said all OOS scholarships had been offered and they would be offering the in-state in a couple of weeks. I assume this is the time the in-state are hearing. (This is not Robertson). Just Carolina, etc. We are OOS and didn't get one, sadly, but at least I am not still checking the mail with expectations. I hope this helps.

Thanks dsm2. My son was looking for the mailman today hoping to get a letter. I'll let him know.

My friend, in-state, received a letter a week ago saying she would get a $2500/year scholarship. She did not go to a scholarship day. I was a little dissapointed to not get anything. I'm not sure if that's all they will send out though because she really isn't planning on going to Carolina and I'm sure they wouldn't let that money go to waste.

My S received IS merit scholarship for $2500/yr last week. We have never attended a scholarship day.

cs08,
I had the same thought and asked that question on the parent chat. The admissions officer online told me they take that in to account and offer more than they expect people to accept. I asked if they might offer a second round of scholarships after people make their acceptances. They told me for OOS all the scholarships have been offered. Unfortunately this makes his decision easier. He will not be a tarheel. I will not get to spend all my vacations in Chapel Hill.

I just got a letter to attend scholarship day. 122 students or so were invited. So it appears that there are still scholarships available.

Meufenio, are you in-state?

Yes I am in-state.
