scholarship letters are out

just got mine

how much and by mail or email

presidential by mail

I got one today too...how many people go to "finals" for the presidential?

I'm a little confused as my D has been asked to attend Explore USC and interview for a Presidential but she is also a NMSF. Does she have to interview for that scholarship or is it automatic?

if she is a national merit finalist and she puts usc as her first choice, she gets automatic half ride, no interview needed.

Thanks Bluebeard. It would be fun for her to come to Explore anyway to meet all of you.

yeah i got my invite to explore usc today. kind of annoying that its $50! oh well.. if i get the scholarship it'll be worth it!

yeah, the $50 is probably mostly food and accomodation type stuff

got mine today too! going the 22-23

hey makkuroi...I'm going to the feb 22-23 one too. got my invite today too!

congrats itida!

I just registered for the Thurs/Friday one for the Trustee interview.

thurs/fri trustee for me too! WOOT.

^ I'm with you guys too.

finally got my letter today but i didn't see any feb. 22-23 date for explore usc. the earliest date i see is april 2.

are you a presidential canditate denlin? i think they're separate dates sets

I'm so excited, it's just a few weeks away...

One kid from my S's HS got a Presidential & was also a NMF, so they gave him 1/2 tuition for the Presidential + 1/2 tuition for NMF, so essentially he ended up with a Trustee (full tuition) merit award. I believe that was the only kid from his HS that got full-tuition merit award. Good luck!

HImom: Are you sure that's possible to combine both? What year was this too if you don't mind me asking. I've heard from a few others that you can't combine them..because I'm in the same situation

I'm pretty sure that you can't combine them- at least, that was the rule when I applied. It could have changed.

I don't have personal info but was told that a kid in the 2006 entering class got it. I'm sure you can get the correct info from USC. My S was informed by letter that he wouldn't get any scholarships except if he was a NMF he could get the 1/2 tuition. He got that + he got an engineering merit scholarship + he got a small NMF merit award; all are renewable for 4 years. It's helped a lot.
