Scholarship Mixed With Other Aid?

I am currently an athlete at a D1 university. As of right now, I do not have any form of athletic scholarship, however, I will most likely be offered a scholarship for next year. The one issue is that since my dad is a professor at my current school, I receive 90% off of tuition (I still have to pay room and board). I know that some types of aid can be mixed with athletic scholarships, and since this aid is not a form of financial aid, I was wondering if I would be able to mix this aid with an athletic scholarship.

Also, just a quick note, my sport is a sport that can offer many partial scholarships.

You should ask the ncaa as this is a rather specific question.

The standard is that you cannot receive institution need based aid with athletic aid, but you can receive institution aid that is available to all other students in a similar situation. The athlete can take merit aid, rotc money, be an RA, take federal aid that is need based like SEOG or Pell, take a band scholarship, etc., as long as other students with those talents could get the awards and they aren’t based on need.

Your institution may have a restriction. A friend found that his children couldn’t take any other aid from the school if they were taking the faculty tuition benefit - no merit at all, not for r&b or other uncovered costs. I think it would be OK with the ncaa because it is not need based aid, but that the school may not allow it.
