Scholarship monies w acceptances??

Do schools always include your scholarship packages with your acceptance letters?
My D received an acceptance with a nice package last week and she received an
acceptance with absolutely no mention of scholarship monies yesterday. Does that mean they are not offering any money or is it possible it will come at a later date?

Thanks
Trisha

No, they do not necessarily award monies at acceptance. Some do, some don’t. The awards you have seen are preliminary awards and do not reflect everything you may get.

The official financial awards are not sent out until all the financial information has been gathered. That won’t be until next spring for most schools.

The acceptance office is often separate from the scholarship office.

Also, sometimes schools want to see who all applies before doling out scholarships.

Also, if the school is still accepting later scores for scholarship qualification, they could be waiting to see everyone’s scores.

Every single college my daughter applied to last year had automatic merit scholarships. Every single one sent the information about the automatic scholarship with her admission letter or mentioned it in the letter at the very least.

My guess is that if it’s an automatic merit scholarship many include them with the admissions letter. If it’s a more selective scholarship, news may come later.
