Does USC notify scholarship earners before the regular time. Or do they just mail out acceptance letters all at the same time and put whether you received a scholarship or not.

My S got a letter from the merit scholarship office that he would NOT be getting either the Presidential or Trustee scholarship sometime in January or February. It also advised him that if he was a NMF, accepted by USC & chose them as his 1st choice, he would receive a 1/2 tuition scholarship from USC.

He wasn't notified of his acceptance until sometime in March. Applicants they are seriously considering for Presidential or Trustee and going to interview are notified & interviewed in January or February, I believe.

When we conferred with USC about possibly enrolling, they again offered S a 1/2 tuition scholarship (for NMF) if he notified the NM folks by the deadline. They also offered him two smaller merit awards.

Our son's "Acceptance to USC" letter was dated January 26th. I don't recall the exact day that we received it, but it was within a few days of the 26th. The letter stating that he was selected as finalist for the Presidential Scholarship (meaning he qualified to go through the Interview process) was dated January 27th. He attended the Explore-USC (Interview) in early March. The letter stating that he was selected as a Presidential Scholar (meaning he will receive the scholarship) was dated March 24th. It all seems like a blur, how quickly it all occurred, looking back on it now.

That was about the same timetable my son experienced also.
