I live in Cincinnati, and UC is usually known as a school that gives a fair amount of money to few kids. This year seems different though. My son (who probably won’t go there, but it was a safety school) received an offer of a $3,500 Cincinnatus Scholarship and admissions to Honors. (4.2 weighted GPA, 33 ACT, good ECs and community service). Most of his friends with similar stats (though some had 31 ACTs) received $2,000.
I went to Miami, my husband went to UC, my son has taken dual credit classes through UC, and I know several kids at both schools. If anyone OOS has questions about the schools, I might be able to answer them.
@mundanewarrior yet the costs are still tremendous. Even with a $18/year scholarship, only very few international students can afford UC. I think they fully realize that.
Pannaga, there was some error with the prices on the portal. Our cost for in-state was listed as 30K when actual cost is around 23/24.
@summr99T Well yeah, I can’t afford UC.
my daughter who is a senior is considering applying to the dual degree program from Univ. Cin. Is this what your daughter is in? Any info is greatly appreciated. My daughter has a 35 ACT, 4.31 (but taking 7 full weight classes senior year), 6 -7varsity letters in 2 sports, (by end of school), show choir, musical., volunteered past 2 summers, NHS…thank you
