I have been given various answers to this by admissions - but I heard that sometime in February is the notification date for this. You can always call admissions and inquire to see what they say, too!

My DS was admitted around Dec. 5th, he got a call last week from admissions (I think, he didn’t tell me the exact name) and the person on the phone told him that scholarship info may also be posted on his student portal account. Son then got an email from same person with portal accout set-up info but of course has not set up yet. Yesterday he got his invitation to Ohio State’s Honors Program and letter said that to check meritawards.osu.edu for more info on scholarships. It also said most Honors students receive some level of merit scholarships.

We too are awaiting a merit award letter since it would be Ohio State at the top of my son’s list. I checked last year’s postings on CC and it looks like most people got a letter with a merit award about a month from time of admissions. If my DS gets anything else, I’ll post it here. Good luck!

Connecticutyank, I’m guessing you’re from CT based on your user. Me too. I applied the day before thanksgiving to OSU, and was wondering what other people’s stats from CT were that got in. I’m still waiting for my admissions decision. My GPA is 3.67, my SAT 1830, and lots of EC’s, community service, leadership, etc. Just wanted to compare.

And I just got a seperate scholarship application from the college for food, ag, and envio sciences (im going to be an animal science major). I’m not sure if it depends on the college but I need to apply seperatly for scholarships at OSU.

We’re OOS too. My S was accepted on Dec 3 (we also got a phone call from admissions that week), received invitation to Honors program on Dec 11 and received notification of National Buckeye and Maximus Scholarship competition yesterday Dec 31.

I don’t know if that is a typical timeframe, but I hope it helps.

I’m OOS and applied on Nov. 22nd. I haven’t heard anything back other than being in evaluation (not surprising since I didn’t apply so long ago) but they did try to call me twice----unfortunately I wasn’t home but they said they would call back. They never did, but I’m hoping it was about scholarships or the honors program.

I have a 2010 SAT/30 ACt and 4.32 GPA, so do you think that could have been what they were calling about?

I don’t want to be presumptuous, but I read in an older thread that someone had the same kind of thing happen last year and OSU was in fact calling about scholarships, they just found out online after their admission status changed instead of by phone?

timish412: My son, in NJ, did short on-line app and was accepted early in Dec. He hasn’t heard from the school by phone at all, but received the Honors/Scholars materials some time before Christmas and on 1/31 got letter dated 12/22 (mailed 12/28) informing him of award of Maximus and Nat’l Buckeye OOS scholarships and enclosing materials for the further Maximus competition. Good luck to you. I hope you hear what you’re waiting for.
