So happy for your S kleibo!

Fantastic news!

When was the admission letter received?

The day my son got the same letter…was probably the best day of the year! He’s a freshman now and loves Pitt.

Congratulations!

Family friend who was accepted 9/29 received full in-state tuition offer today.

My son is in his 2nd year - Full Tuition is the bomb!!

He is loving Pitt.

My S also just received this letter. However, let me preface this with I know this question is alot of descriptive words, but would still appreciate an answer - is it possible at this point to still receive additional scholarships or is it safe to believe that this is the only offer Pitt will make? For example, I am thinking of the engineering scholarship. The letter indicates that “room and board” scholarships are available. I’m wondering what it takes to get one of those and if that is possible now at this point after a full tuition scholarship has been offered.

Thanks

First - Congrats!!

I guess it depends on what your letter states. Some people get invited for the Chancellors scholarship - but they only give out 10 per year and that’s a full Ride. I’m not sure of the engineering scholarship and I’m not sure they can be stacked. You’ll have to research a bit on the UPITT website and last years threads.

Scholarships are stacked. DS received the UHC scholarship which covered the tuition and the engineering scholarship paid for part of the room/board. Also any outside scholarships applied to the remaining balance. Just remember the engineering scholarship is split between the two semesters ($2,000 for each semester).

The engineering scholarship could be stacked with the full-tuition scholarship in the past. I don’t know if that is still current practice.

Congratulations!

Does the engineering scholarship (and Chancellors) get awarded at a different time than the honors full tuition scholarship ? That is what I’m wondering.

Thank you!

This was three years ago but we received notification of the UHC full tuition scholarship and Engineering scholarship on the same day. The letters were dated about a week or so apart but apparently they mailed it at the same time so they showed up in the mailbox on the same day.

The Chancellors is awarded next year but UHC and Engineering is awarded from now until they run out of money (I assume).

Full tuition scholarship!! :D

Whateverhappens - CONGRATS!!!

My daughter is a freshman at Pitt and has received both the UHC full-tuition scholarship and the $4000 engineering scholarship (she is OOS). The UHC scholarship letter came in October, but the engineering scholarship (which is stacked with the UHC scholarship) didn’t arrive until several months later.

Congratulations to all of you! Wow! I am very impressed!

For those whose kids got full tuition, how complete was their application? How many letters of recommendation did they submit? I assume they wrote one essay, the personal essay. What about counselor recs? I assume they submitted that, too?

Pitt is still waiting on my son’s SAT scores and a homeschool document that may or may not satisfy them. He submitted one letter of recommendation (a really, really good one) but I wonder if he should submit more.

Thanks.
