<p>Does anyone receice scholarship notification?</p>
<p>a little confused about this post… but i’m sure if you were to receive a scholarship, they’d find a way to let you know…</p>
<p>I got a scholarship a couple weeks back through the mail around the time I received my official acceptance letter in the mail called the Regents Merit scholarship. It’s a $1500 non-renewable scholarship that they send to 525 kids across Michigan. But U of M’s scholarship distribution seems to be very random, and there’s not very many, unfortunately 
They have a list of scholarships that are sent out from now through April, and most of them are pretty specific to who they are targeted for, and only a handful are given out. (Literally, a lot of them are only given to less than 10 kids.) There are a couple (maybe 3 or 4) that are given to 100+ kids but they are rare. </p>
<p>Need-based finaid, however, I believe we hear about in April via email (make sure you do your FAFSA though, of course!)</p>

<p>Wow, congrats! I’m guessing it’s a merit-based scholarship - does it have a name? Or is it just a straight-forward offering from U of M? I’m confused as to how this all works now xD I’m hoping to get more merit-based scholarship since I probably won’t be getting too much need-based.</p>
<p>Its called the Jean Fairfax scholarship and is for incoming African-American students. I do believe its merit based as well.</p>
<p>Ahh I see. Well, congrats again! (: That’s awesome considering how hard it is to get scholarships at UM!</p>
