Miami's website indicates that they will send out scholarship info in march. i know the harrison, honors and oxford award recipients have been notified, but what about the "Scholarship Guarantee for non-Ohio residents" an award of at least $6850 for out of state students that meet certain GPA/class rank and ACT/SAT cut offs? i rec'd notification that this award exists way back in the fall and I think I meet the requirement, but I haven't rec'd anything from the fin'l office. Has anyone else heard on this front?

Also haven't heard about FA here. The website says "mid to late March" for FA packages.

S received his financial aid packet in mail today. We are in Columbus, Ohio.

D got a music scholarship notification today, but nothing else about financial aid. Jah - D's acceptance letter said something about being considered for the out of state scholarship for high achieving students, but didn't give us any idea of the parameters of the award, and this is the first time we'd heard of it. Do you know what the score cut offs are?

binx-
my daughter rec'd a letter dated 10/4/06 from Ann larson (Interim Dir of Adm) re: scholarships and fin'l aid. It had an enclosure which detailed a "Scholarship Guarantee" for non-ohio residents that meet certain criteria: for hs that rank-ACT of 29+ or SAT of 1280+ and top 15% of class//for hs that do NOT rank--same ACT/SAT cutoffs plus a minimum GPA of 3.7/4.0.

we are in chicago and my d rec'd her award today.

good luck.

Thanks, jah. Maybe we'll have something in the mail on Monday - even with the lousy translation of her foreign transcript, she meets those criteria.

That will make Miami the clear winner for financial aid for D. (Although we haven't gotten any official financial info for several schools - our hopes aren't very high.) Now we are in the tough position of deciding whether Miami is the best fit, and if it isn't, is the fit worth the price difference?

Yep, got it today. $8500 music, $1000 Oxford, and $6850 out of state.
