rejected from all…

I’ve been lurking, waiting with you guys and I was rejected from all three of mine too. Ugh, I can’t seem to catch a break college-wise.

@indiangirl: I would think that there could be some students who are offered scholarships that choose, for some reason or another, not to attend the school. It would be my guess that these scholarships could be offered to other students.

i guess i still have a chance at the merit+need scholarships. does there need to be a substantial amount of need to get one of these?

they’re all online

HereToSucceed92: i just called, and they said that there is no waiting list. WashU is my first choice and i’ve visited 3 times! I really do not want to go to the public university in my state! i don’t know what to do!!!

Indianagirl-You’re still in line for possible financial aid, grants etc…right?

My pathway still doesn’t have my decision…

Indiangirl: Like you said earlier, there is still the chance that you got a merit and need award. And even if that won’t be enough you can always contact the financial aid office and tell them your concerns. Just keep your head up! :)

so is it posible to get a call anyway even if the screen shows rejected?

i have the same question^

I’m pretty sure that someone reported that they had received (or heard of someone who received) a call saying that they were accepted even though the pathway said that they had not received any scholarships. So it could be possible that this could happen.

No scholarship for S - not even a finalist. 36 ACT, several EC’s, 4.2 gpa, Lot’s of AP and honor’s classes, works 25 hrs per week. Really a great kid. Oh well, Wash U’s loss. Getting full ride offers from other schools. This one would have been nice. Would like to see the stats on those who made it.

KSDAD-Same here for my D. Very disappointing, but this is the toughest year ever. When one door shuts another opens…hopefully.

I have been invited to interview for the University Scholars Program in Medicine. Extremely excited! No scholarship offers though :(

@KSDAD1
Yea, I’m in the same situation…

Rejected from University Scholars and Lien. Oh well. =/

Is every scholarship that Wash U. offers considered an “academic” scholarship?

For example, is the Friends of Music scholarship or the Nemerov Writing scholarship considered as an “academic” scholarship as well?

Didn’t get University Scholars, Moog, or Danforth. Ah well, I did the best I could. Congrats to all of the finalists!

I will try to answer a few questions.

darnie - if she is a finalist for the Nemerov , it would be highly unusual if she were not accepted.
indiangirl - Unfortunately there is no WL for merit awards. The number awarded each year is based on conversions in past years. WashU knows that some people will decide not to accept and factors that in when deciding how many merit awards to offer each year. I would say that you probably have a very good shot at a need/merit award. WashU tends to be quite generous in this area. If you run into a financial problem, give me a shout and I will give you the name of the person to contact.
