Scholarship Notifications for UCF'25?

Thanks for the great info!. We did put down deposit and was accepted on Dec 1st. I think that’s the first day it opened. I am leaning toward Towers and will need to confirm with them on the 4 years housing guaranteed. Also, when we filled out the application, it asked if we wanted calendar or academic year and we picked academic. I may need to call them and change that if we decided on tower.

You WILL DEFINITELY have to call and switch if you decide on Towers.

Two completely different categories, and you may not be able to switch if you wait until later. I think all of housing was on wait-list last year, and if covid subsides by Fall things may get really tight.

Just reporting back. Housing sent me an email saying that Tower III LLC is NOT a guaranteed 4 years. It is subject to the lottery system like other dorms. There are some groups that have priority such as disability or medical condition or NMS, etc. Here is the link they gave me.
Returning Residents • Housing and Residence Life • UCF . Also, if you ask to change from Academic to Annual plan, you will lose your place in line since a new agreement has to be created.

D received a letter today that her Knights Achievement is worth $5250/semester, so…$10,500/year…$41,000 over 4 years.

@jinsun2000 That is too bad that one loses their place in line for changing what type of agreement. Is you S going there for sure or is it just one in the running?

S21 also received a letter for Provost this week. It’s worth the same as last year which is $30K over 4 years. UCF is on top of his list since with Florida’s Bright Future covering tuition and Provost covering most of room and board, he will graduate with nearly 0 debt! When we visited UCF last summer, he really likes the campus and the fact that it is about ~1 hr from where we live is a big plus. He is still waiting on UF, but I doubt that he will get any merit from them. He plan to study computer science and in my opinion, UCF computer science is on par or better than UF. Just look at their website and the courses they offer.

Wow! That sounds great!! My D is OOS, so even though $41,000 over 4 years is generous, we would still be paying more than instate rates so it doesn’t make UCF a sure thing for her. We haven’t been able to visit.

@1Lotus was it a letter in the mail?

Our state schools are very expensive so it would still put it as one of the lowest. Saddened that our kids can work so hard and our home state could care less. Even high stat kids get very little. If we lived in FL they would be going for close to free.

@1intwo2go, I have to say moving to Florida 1 1/2 year ago was one of the best move for us. No state income tax, decent price housing, good school system/support, and great weather with the exception of the occasional hurricanes. The bright future program here is imo one of the most generous in the nation! Requirements for the top award which gives full tuition and $600 for books/year is like 1330 SAT and 100 hours of community services. My son started school here as a high school junior and had a hard time completing the required 100 hours due to COVID, but when I told him each hour work is worth ~$280/hour, he completed it in about 4 months. He and his sister pickup trash from the beach every weekend and now it is super clean! They were excited when they got their picture posted for best volunteers of the month…

Does anyone know the housing deposit policy? How much is it to reserve housing and what is refunded if student decides not to attend? If choosing annual contract, are students required to take any classes during the summer term?

Hopefully I can post this link correctly
https://www.housing.ucf.edu/costs/terms/

Typically you are required to take a set number of hours. Online would count, but if you read through the contract and it should tell you. D18 just had to fill out a form when she went below the hours- but that is Rosen- they need people to live there!

In quickly scanning through the Towers 3 semester, there is a $100 cancellation fee by May 1st. You can not go below 3 credit hours- so 1 class in the summer. If you go to 0 credits, you must vacate in 72 hours.

Just did a self guided tour of UCF yesterday. It’s a beautiful school. Mine still hasn’t heard anything about any merit yet. Her portal has nothing. So frustrating

UCF website said Summer B registration is open. Do any of you know how I can see the list of classes offered? Son applied to Summer B so he can complete some of the online requirements.

If he logs into his UCF account under student self service there should be a menu that appears that says search, plan, enroll… my schedule builder is a great tool to help plan out courses. Gives you every schedule available based on the classes picked.

I don’t see that on the website, and I do not see Summer 2021 at all on the Schedule Builder, Search, Plan, Enroll, etc tools.

Summer 2020 is there, but it’s a little late for that, lol.

This is what I am seeing. https://www.ucf.edu/register-for-summer/
However, those menu items (i.e plan, enroll, schedule builder) does not show up in my son’s portal. I think he has to accept admission first to see it.

Oh - I thought he had accepted admission- there still might be a way to search- but I agree with @JimDadinmia the classes aren’t up. They don’t usually show up until March about a week before the current students can register.

Still nothing there using that link. I don’t know how you got it, but if you Googled it could be an cached page from another year.

The info I see says Summer 2021 registration will open for new undergraduate students in March 2021.
