Those who have received scholarships offers-- are the scholarships listed on the admission status page?
Yes, the scholarship is listed on the my status page
Where on the myStatus page would it be listed?
Below the Test Scores and Foundation Fellow application checklist. They are listed under the heading
“Scholarships”.
Thanks, Simba. No Scholarship section for us. So that is a little scary, but congrats to everyone getting the good news!
Another college review website has a series of comments regarding the process on how scholarships are offered at UGA. The comments say that if you have applied to Foundation Fellows/Bernard Ramsey scholarship programs that you are not offered another UGA scholarship until after its determined if you are advancing to the next stage of the FF/BR scholarships. The theory is that after you are “eliminated” from that competition, then UGA will offer another scholarship (possibly at least) at that point. Does anyone have any information to validate or dispute this theory? Did any of those above who received Presidential Scholarships also apply to FF/BR?
My D applied to FF but I don’t think they have made determinations yet on the FF scholarship yet.
my daughter (Pres scholarship) did apply to FF/BR. the letter said that if you move on to FF/BR it will replace the Presidential. I also read that the FF/BR invites come out in mid-Jan. hope that means still in hunt for ff/br - but i have no real info on your premise.
ok - i found another thread in coll confid from 2009. look up user tebowforheisman. he got the onegeorgia scholarship ‘charter’ which was oos tuition plus 1500/yr first. then later on he got invited to the ff interview. so that seems to indicate that the early scholarships dont come because you were eliminated from the ff/br - which makes sense. just keep waiting patiently and hoping for best; life will work out. good luck.
My daughter (Presidential) also applied to FF/BR and got same info as @Doctorzz. The scholarships are awarded by two different groups/committees (admissions versus honors college), so one doesn’t predict the other. The letter did specifically say that if you were invited to FF/BR weekend that scholarship offer would replace Presidential.
Also, on the UGA admissions blog, they said just prior to the holidays that they had been running slow on scholarship selections (meaning the ones from adm office like Presidential, Charter, Baldwin) and that a few would go out in late December, but most would be sent out in January - so no worries @gsckmom! I’m sure something will be coming soon :->!
FF decisions are out. Best of luck everyone.
My OOS D received her FF/BR email this morning. Stats: 4.0 unweighted, duel enrollment: 62 units, 34 ACT
Yep. D not a finalist but good luck to all!
My d received the Woodruff scholarship, based on the strength her FF application. For those reading this thread next year- she also was auto admitted to Honors based on her FF application.
