Scholarship on Application?

<p>Hi all,
I recently became a finalist for an engineering scholarship for the Chicagoland region.
It's not a big name scholarship, but the institution does have ties with fermilab and argonne.
Is this something that I could put on my college app (common app) as honors?
Is it something that is typically done?</p>

<p>All i did was write a couple essays but i'm really looking for something like an engineering award....because as of now i have nothing</p>

<p>It can’t hurt to put it on the application. I have seen a lot of such items on applications to Illinois Institute of Technology, where I am a physics professor and often review applications for merit scholarships and so forth. It is recognition of some kind and as such deserves mention.</p>
