Scholarship question

I didn't apply by the November 1st deadline, but I still got accepted. Does that mean I'm automatically out of consideration for scholarships?

Yes, for the automatic scholarships.

There are other scholarships available through the IU Foundation for which you can apply.

No, it means that you can’t be considered for their automatic scholarships which were based solely on test scores and GPA. Meaning if there was a scholarship that fit your credential, you were automatically given that scholarship. Now if you want ringer scholarships you’re going to have an application or something. Hope I helped (:

I remember two years ago when we were visiting campus on Nov. 1st, the presenter at the information session said that officially Nov. 1st is the deadline to be eligible for automatic academic scholarships. But then he said that they would be available “for as long as funds are available” even if one did not apply by Nov. 1st. Since the automatic scholarships are technically a “discount” off tuition, it might be that they will still give the automatic scholarships to someone who missed the Nov. 1st “deadline”. You could call and ask.

A few years ago, IU did give automatic scholarships as long as the funds were available. This is no longer the case: from the scholarship website FAQ’s

" All of your completed application materials for admission must be submitted online or postmarked by the November 1 deadline to receive consideration for Automatic Academic Scholarships. If you submit application materials later than November 1, you will not be eligible for Automatic Academic Scholarships."
