scholarship question

If a scholarship application asked you to provide the contacts of people who can provide reference information related to your community service involvement, do you think they would really call them to verify your role and service hours etc.?

Yes they would call.

I would think so; I don't think they'd ask you just to intimidate you. haha

It's only if you advance to the semi's or whatnot.

I believe they use it as a last resort. If you have an application that is just as strong as another candidate, then they will use the references you gave them, so if I were you, I'd make them good references. It could mean a whole lot if you don't choose wisely.
