i was awarded the thomas aquinas scholarship (3/4 tuition) and i was wondering if we had to submit the fafsa in order to claim it.

yeah, i know fafsa was due the 7th. all the more reason to get an answer quickly.

That's great, was there an ACT/SAT cutoff for that or is it need-based?

Good question. The PC website says you don't have to fill out the CSC profile or FAFSA in order to be considered for these merit-based scholarships, but doesn't say anything about claiming them. D is a freshman at PC and received this scholarship but my husband had already filled out both by the time she found out about it as she applied RD. Why don't you just give them a call or email the financial aid office. I'm sure someone there can tell you and put your mind at ease. Congrats on the scholarship!

Typo above.... meant CSS profile, not CSC.

i called today, and they said that the fafsa is NOT required in order to claim the scholarship. btw, when i called and told them i got the scholarship, the woman on the phone seemed genuinely happy that i got it. kinda helps tip the scale of my college decision towards pc.

debruns- idk if there was an ACT/SAT cutoff, but i think it was a general overview of my application. and no, it isn't based on need at all- solely merit.

Can you let me know when the merit scholarships were announced?
