Is it tougher to get money from Cuse if you apply to Newhouse, because it is more prestigious, than if you were to apply to other colleges at SU?

from the newhouse school…MY DD in 2007 as not offered any scholarship money from newhouse Syracuse, yet was offered it from other colleges ( F&M. Loyola, Gettysburg). Her stats were quite good. When I inquired , I was told that Newhouse has only so many merit awards and the applicant pool is much higher than the other colleges at Syracuse.
Everything happens for a reason, without merit aid from Syracuse and Boston College my DD chose BC and is very happy there. I feel better as BC has far less crime than Syracuse

drury: you may want to ask someone in admissions this question; my daughter received a large merit award from Newhouse in 2008 but didn’t have high enough stats to be invited into the Renee Crown Honors Program…the Newhouse merit awards may not be exclusively based on stats…

sooo happy goingtobebroke “feels better that her daughter is at BC…” since that was sooo relevant to your question…lol
