How much did you all get? I taked to about a half dozen friends--they were all disappointed.

Anyone?

I only got $11,500. None of my friends got more. GPAs of 3.9+ and ACTs in the 30s!
It didn’t seem that way last year.

No notification of any $$ yet for my daughter in Georgia.

S received $10,300 with 26 ACT and 86.17/100 GPA. Great EC’s, recs and essay. We are very happy with his award and seriously considering Marquette! From NY - Jesuit parish. Would go ROTC/American Military History or International Studies.

Congratulations sandkmom, that is an excellent award. D received $11,700 with a 31 ACT and a 4.0/4.25 GPA. Marquette is less expensive than many other colleges, so the scholarship dollars have to be compared relative to the net cost. We are waiting on Physical Therapy decisions.

My daughter received $12,700 - 2140 SAT (1400 CR/M), 4.47 weighted gpa, 4.0 unweighted; 3 varsity sports, leadership positions, volunteering, etc. She is really looking forward to visiting!

$9,600 here. 28 ACT 4.0 UW… I am very active with sports/volunteering. I was hoping to get 11,000-12,000. Does anyone know if you can call the financial department and ask for more?

They will want to process your financial aid info first and will recommend you attend the scholarship competition.

Oh. I didn’t post mine.
32 ACT
4.00 UW/ 4.4 W
8 APs + 1 CC class
Pretty fair ECs.

Once again, 11,500.

Congrats to all. Note that this scholarship is for all 4 years as long as you remain in good standing. So if you multiply by 4 that is a good chunk of $. Those that have need base aid will get grants.

Yes! Congrats to all on the awards and the very impressive stats! With my S’s much appreciated scholarship, Marquette is a great value to us…even factoring in airfare Marquette is coming in with a lower COA than some local NY schools my S is considering!

Does anyone know what good academic standing is considered to be? All of the other schools my S was accepted to were very specific that renewing the scholarship required a 3.0 GPA.

My D got $11,300, 32 act, 3.6 UW. Not enough to make it an option for her compared to full tuition elsewhere and U Mich in state tuition.

@sandkmom it will depend on the college, but normally 2.0-2.5 and obviously taking enough credits to remain full time student

Going off Runner 25’s post what exactly is the ‘process’ of “asking for more?”

$11,000. 34 ACT, 2230 SAT. 4.3 Gpa (weighted) 3.9 (unweighted) . Super involved in service work, varsity captain, national merit commended. Not really sure why it was that low. People with lower stats got more from my high school.

This is so wierd. Talked to more kids. Not logical at all.

$10,600 a year
1060 SAT
3.87 W GPA … ~3.6 UW
no AP’s
little service and a few extracurriculars

DD got $13,700/yr to nursing. Her stats are : 31 ACT; 4.0/4.2 gpa; class rank top 3% (7/260). Tons of ECs and leadership; year-round athlete (4 varsity letters)

As far as financial aid goes, how accurate does the “net price calculator” seem to be? Does that include financial aid through the university itself?.. I talked with the admissions, and they said that ignatius/magis scholarships were set values.

@Runner25 Ignatius/Magis are merit based not need based. University might give you a grant if you have need based aid and that would be based on Fafsa results.
