I currently just transfered to a four year university. Scholarships are offered by local companies/people and they require a resume. My question is i have a 3.6 gpa, presidents list, transfer scholarship, but will not having an act score to show hurt my chances? They ask for one.... Also when it comes to scholarship references who are the best to use? Im currently in college and i could use my highschool counsler and grandparents friendd that have known me for 18 years and he has a PHD but i read somewhere that its bad to have family friends write reference letters. Also i made all A's this semester i could use my teachers are references but what if i decide to save his/her letter for a scholarhsip for next year?

It’s best to just provide the information that the scholarship applications asks for. The resume can be fairly basic listing any jobs that you’ve had, a bit about your educational background, your goals, interests, etc.

I think that one of your professors from your previous college or university (my assumption as you said you’re transferring in) would make the best reference as his recommendation would be more recent, it would be a professional relationship and not based on family and friends that tend to be looked on as biased. If you need a letter for next year, then you could ask your professors at your new university for references.
