Scholarship section on application

Does the section where you pick 16 scholarships and career plans affect your chances in admission or is that just to see how much money you'll get?

It doesn’t affect your admission chances. They’re categories for you to select for them to forward your materials–grades, personal statements, extracurriculars, et cetera–to the people who select the recipients for various scholarships, if you get in.

…why would it affect your chances of admission? I don’t understand the logic here.

I’m planning on mailing them a letter to fix my application. Getting scholarships is important to me so how could I change them if I can’t see the selections? I also have 1 spelling mistake in the additional info- “and,” but without the “n” and multiple questions marks in place of quotations and apostrophes. Is that worth mentioning?

it’s complicated but I switched majors and those scholarships I chose don’t relate with my current major so it might seem weird to them.

What do you mean if you can’t see the selections? You were supposed to have checked those boxes before sending in your application. It’s probably too late for you to do that now. If you were having trouble viewing a part of the application, you should have inquired about it while the application was still open rather than three days after it closed.

A surprisingly large number of people don’t check their writing samples for those. Changes to special characters by their system and typos generally don’t affect admissions decisions.

The ? in place of apostrophes happens from formatting, I don’t think that should be an issue
