hey guys! i am attending the first scholarship event on february 24-25
based on flight times where i live, i have to fly out the day before in order to make it to USC in time for thursday
i wanted to get a hotel at the radisson (on-campus) wednesday night (february 23) but since i'm not 18 yet i can't check into a hotel
would anyone who is 18 be interested in sharing a hotel room that one night?
please PM me if you are!!
thanks =)

Have you asked the university if you can stay at the dorms an extra night?

yeah, i called them and they said they would try to arrange something
but i actually sorta wanted to stay in a hotel wednesday night so i can get ready for the event the following day lol

Just an FYI- I called to get the rates on the Radisson and it was $206 a night for the days we will be there! I couldn’t believe it! We will be there three nights because we are from the East Coast. I am going to stay near the airport instead at $84/night.

NC Mom, You might want to try STA Travel - ask if they have any special USC rates available for the scholarship interview events. I have no idea if they do but we got a good rate through them once for Parent’s Weekend at one of the big downtown hotels. Worth a try.

^STA is who quoted me the $206/night rate. Thanks anyway!

I remember reading an article about this place…it’s a B&B on 23rd, not very far from USC.

Looking at the rates, kind of pricey too, a 2 bedroom suite at $200 and up, one bedroom at $175/$195. Breakfast and parking included. One could share a two bedroom perhaps? Parking costs, if one rents a car, are horribly expensive at other hotels, so it might be worth looking into.

[The Inn at 657: Buildings](http://www.patsysinn657.com/index2.html)

We stayed at that Inn the night before my D moved into her dorm a few years back. It was perfectly comfortable and the price included a good breakfast.

Nc mom,
Have you tried searching on trip advisor.com for hotels in downtown LA? You might try something near LA Live. The airport is about 30 minutes away with a little traffic, but downtown is only 5 or 7 minutes away from USC.

I just booked Vagabond Inn Los Angeles USC, which is about .4 miles away from USC. While I am not sure about the quality of the hotel, the price is $80.10 per night for a King Bed room with AAA card.

Our trip there will be Mar 2, 3 and 4.

I found some reviews for the the Vagabond : [Vagabond Inn Los Angeles (USC) - Google Maps](<a href=“Google Maps”>Google Maps)

Thank you for the tip about the Vagabond Inn!

FYI—When we booked (for Bacc/MD interview) flights/hotel together on travelocity, the Radisson at USC was only $75/night.

While booking your rooms, don’t forget parking on campus is like 20 a day. So if the Radission has free parking, you should factor that in.

The Vagabond is right down figueroa - walk a few minutes down past the gateway apartment complex and you’re at USC :)

I just booked the Radisson at USC. The cost is $152.83 for one night including taxes and fees. I booked it through hotels dot com.

We also booked at the Radisson for the BACC/MD interview - they had a deal if you book 21 or more days in advance, I think it was $135/night. It’s a pay in advance, no refund rate.

And I can’t find anything at the Radisson for under $200/night for the days (3/9-3/12) that we will be there. If anyone else does, please let me know. Since we fly in late on the 9th and out early on the 12th, perhaps the airport hotel is a better plan for us anyway. I checked on parking at USC and it is $8/day. Thanks for posting all the suggestions! I love this forum!

Please account for LA traffic. Weekdays after 6am can double you travel time. Weekend traffic just starts later.

Thanks for the traffic tip. We will leave extra early. I think the program starts at 10am that first day so we have some time to get there and I figure my son will be staying on campus the night inbetween so it is just me to get there the second day.
