Does anyone know when scholarship information is sent? Thanks

Has anyone been notified yet regarding merit scholarships or MSP scholarship?

When I called admissions they told me scholarship information is sent out between January and February. I’m eagerly anticipating a response as well.

My son received a letter by USPS today with the offer of Maximus ($6K per year). Since he is not in the top 3% (in a competitive high school) as required for Maximus, we were afraid he may not get it. Perhaps his 34 in ACT and 1460 CR+M in SAT helped.

Emails went out this week about MSP. Notification is between Jan 31 - end of March…

My son received his letter with Maximus award today as well.

Maximum letter just arrived here today.

Congrats on receiving the Maximum Award, very exciting! We are still waiting and hoping to receive one of the merit awards. If you all don’t mind saying what region of Ohio do you reside? or are you OOS? I live in the Cleveland/Lorain area and haven’t heard anyone in our area receiving letters yet? Just wondering and thank you for sharing.

Can people who got the Maximus post their stats?

NE OH - in your neighborhood, nurse66.
34 ACT
wGPA ~4.5

Ok, Thank you and I will be anxiously checking my mail!

SW OH - diagonal opposite of dazedandamused.
My son’s stats are similar though: 34 ACT, 2210 in SAT, 4.5 weighted GPA, National Merit Commended, etc.

OSU’s decision making does not appear to be region or even school based. One of my son’s good friend with better scores and records (except National Merit, which OSU presumably does not take into account) hasn’t even heard back about admission, let alone scholarship. Go figure!

Good luck everybody.

I agree- seems like they really look at the ACT and SAT scores and GPA. My son has a 4.2 weighted and got a 29 on ACT and 1280 on SAT. We are just hoping on getting the trustee scholarship! But, he also applied for the MSP scholarship so that one would be awesome if he is selected.
I love this thread makes you feel connected as you sit and wait…….

do you think a 34 and a 3.7 will be enough to get the maximus scholarship?

The link above describes the criteria for the merit-based scholarships.

Good luck to all…tough times waiting for answers. This is our fourth rodeo and I thought the wait and anticipation would get easier, but no such luck.

Our son got notification yesterday of the Maximus, we are in SW Ohio. His stats:
35 ACT
4.0 GPA unweighted

1 in class, competitive HS

8 AP’s
varied EC’s and employment

Also accepted to Purdue and Illinois, no word from either of them yet on merit scholarships.

Again, best wishes to all.

Central Ohio, here. Maximus recipient.

36 ACT, 4.0 UW GPA, Rank 1/155, most rigorous course load possible, etc.

D just received letter today, awarded the Provost Scholarship.

OSUmom2018 - My daughter is really hoping for the Provost. Would you mind posting your daughter’s stats?
