Hey, I am a first semester freshman. My university awarded me one of those full tuition merit scholorships that you can only get as a first semester entering freshman. Long story short, I was wondering if I were to drop out of my university now and apply to another without transfering any credits, would I be essentialy an entering first time freshman, ergo being eligible for the scholarship at the other university?
You might be. Some schools allow you to transfer 12 credits, some more, some none. Some don’t take freshmen as transfers. You need to check with the school you are interested in.
You’d have to contact schools’ scholarship depts and ask. If so, then you’d have to apply for next Fall, not spring. and you couldn’t take any classes at a CC in the spring or anywhere.
I would be very careful. Is it still not past the drop date? Will those dropped classes be all Fs or Ws? Because you enrolled everyone will want transcripts because they don’t know what is on it until they see it–disclipinary actions, kicked out etc.
I think you should have passed and taken gap year but now you made the decision And picked your school.
But you say your university awarded you this scholarship - so if you withdrew and then applied and then enrolled next year, why do you think University A’s scholarship would now be accepted at University B?
You have only been in school for a week or two - what is wrong?
So your other thread indicates that you hope to attend UA Huntsville instead. You should give them a call. Also if you want to share where you are going and why you want to transfer that is helpful to others, thanks.
Thanks for all the responses everyone. The reason I want to switch schools is a bit personal… So just to clarify, is there no way for me to basically start over and not have another university know that ive already been enrolled in another university?
