Scholarship

Hi! I got in Illinois Institute of Technology with Henry T. Heald Scholarship: $17,500 per year as a first-year student.I really want to go here, but at this time, it will be hard to afford this pretty expensive university. My question is: is there any need-based scholarships besides this one? Or can I increase merit-based scholarship during the academic year ( if I will do well)? Or maybe they have scholarships/grants for 2nd/3rd-year students?Anyone know?
thank you=)

Did you fill out FASFA. I’m not to familiar with it, but I know it helps with aid. I also got into IIT with a 20,000 scholarship so congrats! They also had a list of other scholarships to apply too but the deadlines were december 1st.

No, I did not fill out the FAFSA yet, but I will in January.Thank you! Congrats too! Yeah, I know, I applied for a full architect scholarship, but the chances are so low…

If you applied before December 1, you could be invited to Scholarship Weekend in February. I am not sure when the invitations will go out as I am not in the Admissions office but certainly before the end of this coming week. As for FAFSA, you should fill it out as soon as you can so that you can figure out your full financial aid package.

You also ask about additional scholarships. There is the opportunity to apply to the Leadership Academy in your Sophomore year and that would include a full scholarship if you were to get in. It is difficult though and you really need to have a commitment to leadership. Outside of that, there are possibly some departmental scholarships but that depends on the department.
