Goodday,
I applied to Howard university regular application.
SAT 1420
GPA 3.98 unweighed.
I have been accepted, but I don’t know if I’ll receive a scholarship.
Please I’ll really appreciate helpful replies.

When did you apply? Howard can be generous, but they run out of money if you applied later in the app season.
Howard no longer has automatic scholarships. All of their scholarships are competitive. Unfortunately you don’t know what the rest of the pool looks like
Maybe the Howard University forum folks here can provide better insight.
@mom2collegekids I applied November 11
@thumper1 okay I’ll get to them
I mean the Howard forum in College Confidential!!
According to the link below, you’re eligible for a full academic scholarship

I hope you get it!
According to the link below and the New SAT requirements, you would no longer qualify for a full scholarship. Full scholarships start at 1450 SAT.
Is anyone else pissed about Howard changing their scholarship requirements for, what, the third time in three years without much notice?
Suddenly, on the scholarship chart underneath the cost of attendance, the New SAT scores magically popped up next to the old requirements in mid-March. Mid-March is far after a good majority of first year undergraduate students have already applied. I mean, I’m still where I would’ve qualified without the new SAT requirement change, but what about all those people satisfied with their 1400 SAT, thinking they were going to get into Howard on a full ride? That’s really not right. I’m not saying Howard didn’t have a right to change their requirements, but honestly it’s ridiculous to change them so late.
Plus, admission packets/financial aid are just getting out to people who were accepted in January.
And on the note of admission and financial aid departments, I heard they’re the least helpful. Sure, a bunch of schools have financial aid departments who don’t answer phones, but I’ve heard that even admissions doesn’t answer. I sent an email directly to my admissions counselor in December, and it wasn’t answered until late February. You can’t call that winter break.
Admissions? Don’t they want students to actually apply and attend?
Starting to rethink this whole Howard, the Mecca, thing. Unorganized, much?
Hey. Have you received your admissions packet??
Got accepted in December and I’m yet to receive my packet(aside emails)…I’m an international student though
Wow @jolealea
I just checked the site…now I know why my friends didn’t get the appropriate scholarship…
It should have been put up /announced much earlier though
@jolealea have you received your scholarship?
When were you accepted?
Their scholarships are a toss-up & it’s sad that they’re unreliable & unorganized.
One girl on twitter (Class of 2021) with a 26 ACT received a full academic scholarship that covered EVERYTHING. People didn’t believe her so she even screenshotted it. (She was not an athlete either) & seeing that made me think of the girl on youtube (Class of 2020) who made the ‘Why I Left Howard University’ video. She had a 1750 on the SAT (27 ACT equivalent) was offered a full scholarship & 1 semester in…they revoked it. She also talked about how she knew other kids with grades worse than hers that got a full scholarship.

Maybe I’m reaching…but it seems like if you’re not rich or scoring in the 95th percentile, Howard doesn’t want you. I’m neither of the above, so when applying this fall, I won’t be expecting much at all. smh

@Obinnavictor Received my scholarship?
LOL.
I applied in December, was accepted in a little more than two weeks ago. I haven’t even gotten my admissions packet, let alone financial aid.
I completely agree with you. Just watched the video, and that’s completely nuts!
@xvibesx ^
@syllaboss People accepted in December are just receiving admissions packets; it’s not because you’re international.
Alright, Thanks
what exactly was the reason they were not accepted?
