really? damnn. I guess it's jsut that all the ppl on CC are super smart. =]

I was accepted to Tisch Drama, and I got a lot of scholarship money. But I also I have an EFC of $68, but I've heard that NYU is really bad with financial aid. Anyways, a bit of hope for some people out there:

Tisch Scholarship $9000
J. Eckhouse Scholarship $13000
Provost Grant $12720
Pell Grant $4260
Academic Competitiveness Grant $750
National Merit Scholarship $2500
Perkins Loan $2400
Stafford Loan $3500
Work Study $4000

Even some people from my school who don't have nearly as much need as I do still got some substantial scholarships.

I got the $25,000 CAS Scholarship and here are my stats:

SAT: 800 CR 790 M 770 W
SAT IIs: 760 Chemistry, 800 Math IIC

GPA: 3.89 UW/ 4.30 W at a most competitive CA public high school

President of a club, in the jazz all star band for my city, interned at a hospital for two years, etc. etc.

My EFC was 43000, so I don't know if this was based on financial need. When I went to visit NYU the fin aid officer said it wasn't, but my mother called in and they said it was. NYU administration is really hard to deal with.

I got a small amount of $1,000 for Steinhardt Leadership Award.

My son got a $15,000 trustee scholarship. But this was the lowest scholarship offer of any school he applied to. NYU has almost the highest cost of attendance of any college S applied to. So, yes... generous. Yes....stingy.

does anyone know what a CAS scholarship is? is it based on merit or financial aid?

Loans should NOT be considered aid....does anyone agree with me?

agreed....

agreed!!! i don't understand how the colleges think they met my financial need by giving me loans to pay for!!!

NOCCA Junior, $9,000 in Tisch scholarship? That's pretty amazing. I could use that. I did get 4,000 though.
