I have Ell/Bunche scholarship, which I guess they just changed the name to Trustee. Anyhow, I applied regular decision and found out w/ my acceptance letter. Generally, it’s the top 1% that get it.

i heard this is given out this week
anyone heard yet?

I got only 10k

Did you get $10,000 total or per year? Thanks

I got $10,000 a year.

trustee scholarships for like full tuition
i guess ppl havent heard back yet

I got $14,000 a year.
At EA Welcome Day, they told me that there would be no more merit aid being given out… I’m not sure if she knew that my mom was referring to the full tuition scholarships or not.

i heard that the financial office would send emails about trustee scholarship this week.
full ride to northeastern would be amazing

nd where you hear that from i hope your right lol but on the scholarship letter it says that decisions would be released around april…

I got an e-mail a while back from NU saying that National Merit finalists can receive up to a full scholarship. I faxed them my stuff and I hope it helps (haven’t even gotten a decision letter yet), but now I’m a little confused…have they given out all of their merit aid already?

anyone got this trustee scholarship yet?

I was just notified tonight of my Trustee Scholarship. I am still in shock.

Yay me too! I’m surprised as well…National Achievement…but with really high SAT scores and a decent GPA. This is really nice!

How were you notified laurams??

I faxed them my National Merit Finalist documents and received full tuition for the NEU honors program.

per the op’s request…

[/ul]Reflection[ul]
[] Strengths: For Northeastern, probably the National Achievement. And the subsequent high SAT score. Research that correlates with my intended major (I work in a neuro lab at the National Institutes of Health)
[] Weaknesses: GPA. Junior year was my worst year. Downhill trend…My 2nd rec, when I read it, wasn’t too stellar, just okay. I didn’t see his checklist.
[li] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: It was one of my safeties and I kind of expected to get accepted, but the scholarship was a big surprise. Looking on here, it seems like National Achievement was what pushed me to the top.
[/li]

[/ul] General Comments:
I got the Trustee Scholarship, full tuition + room/board for 8 semesters. I’m really happy, because looking at last years thread, very few people seemed to get it and a lot of people only got the Dean’s Scholarship. It looks to me like it’s the National Merit and Achievement stuff that really did it for most of us who got the full scholarship. I don’t know if I’ll accept though, I’m not sure it will provide the close-knit campus feel I want, but I’m definitely taking a second look at NEU because of it. Congratulations to those who got in and good luck to everyone who is on the waitlist.

was there a set date for trustee scholarship recipients to be notified? or are people finding out over a period of time?

yeah i wonder if i have to give up my hope
i heard the recipients get notified on the NU website along w/ their RD

hey you guys didnt get emails??

i got in EA, did anyone else who got in early action hear back from the trustee scholarship?
