I got a $12,000 scholarship recognition award. It's only for one year though, and is non-renewable. If I really do attend UCLA, are there other ways to continue to get merit-based scholarships like these?

Also, there's a disclaimer on the side of the page that states:

This is only an Estimate

Does this mean that they might take away this scholarship for an arbitrary reason?

I’m in the same boat as you. I think that we are ok, since it says “Since these scholarships are offered for one year only, students who apply on time and continue to demonstrate financial need will be funded through University Grants for their future needs of study.” I’d be interested to hear from a current student or parent, because without that $14k a year scholarship I don’t know that I’ll be able to afford OOS tuition.

^ same, I mean, I can definitely afford the first year… but the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th (hopefully not) years will be very very difficult to pay for…
Also- is this scholarship based on merit, need, or a combination of both?

The little blurb said it was for students who demonstrate a high level of financial need (but I don’t think I fall in that category, I didn’t even qualify for the CalGrant due to my parents incomes)

Can any current students give some input?

Is that the blue And gold scholarship?
