Scholarships and Greek Life

Im a out of state high school senior looking really hard at Auburn and Texas A&M but Auburn is my number 1 30 ACT with 3.8 GPA wondering if I will give an out of state scholarships. If so how much and can you get multiple scholarships? Also what is the greek life like at Auburn?

Auburn will give you $6K (static amount) per year with a 30 ACT- not sure about other scholarships you can apply for but they have many listed on the website, just search for scholarships…departmental scholarships usually don’t become available until you’re a soph or junior and yes, many are stackable.

Univ of Alabama costs less and gives you almost $17K (percentage of tuition) a year for the same stats - plus you get another stipend if you’re applying to the College of Engineering (I think - check to see if this is still offered) and their scholarships increase as the tuition increases.

I don’t want to sway you from Auburn since it is a terrific school and was my sons choice but if you are restricted by $ - it would be hard to beat Univ of Alabama’s scholarship offers.

Both AU (Auburn Univ) and UA (Univ of Alabama) have great Greek scenes.

Thanks so much, I’m not looking at Alabama just Auburn because they have a really good architecture program. No matter where I go I would want to rush, do you know by chance what the greek scene is like at Auburn especially for a guy coming from out of state.

I don’t know a lot about the social fraternities - my son is in a professional one and marching band that keeps him busy. I can’t imagine out of state is an issue for pledging since a lot of the kids are from out of state / out of southeast.
