Scholarships based on ACT Score?

I got a 33 composite score on my ACT with a 36 on the reading. Are there any scholarships available based on ACT scores?

Yes, there are college scholarships based on ACT scores (or SAT scores). however, there is usually a minimum GPA req’t. What is your weighted GPA?

My GPA was low, a 3.6. I did take 7 AP courses however. I was hoping that my test scores might make up for my low GPA. I also got a 2020 on the SAT.

Are you a junior? if so, then there are schools that will give you generous merit for your stats.

Colleges give the best scholarships. Private scholarships are hard to win and are often small and only for 1 year. Stick with applying to colleges that give merit $$ for stats.

No I’m a senior. And I was only accepted to one college that I applied to (FSU) out of all those I applied to (JMU, VT, UVA, Clemson, FSU). I was waitlisted at both JMU and VT. So I guess scholarships aren’t likely then.

Oh…you’re a senior.

It doesn’t sound like you were advised very well if you need scholarships. There are schools that would have given you generous merit (including free tuition) for an ACT 33 and a GPA 3.6.

Good luck.

I’ve been following your posts from April. How does one find these opportunities (generous merit, including free tuition) for an ACT 33 and 4.0GPA?

^^^

To find merit scholarships based on GPA and test scores…look here…

AUTO SCHOLARSHIPS…$$$ CC Important links to Auto Scholarships…

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/financial-aid-scholarships/848226-important-links-automatic-guaranteed-merit-scholarships.html</a>

These are for assured scholarships. As long as you apply on time and have the stats, you get the money. For instance, at Bama, your child would get free tuition - including out of state tuition. And, if your child majors in Comp Sci or Engineering, he/she’d get an additional $2500 per year.

However, some schools have competitive scholarships, but there’s no guarantees with those. It’s ok to apply for a few of those, but don’t depend on them.

Forgot to add…

What was your child’s PSAT score? Will he/she be a likely NMSF? What state are you in?

Can I get chance to get some sholarship?

YUJ…this thread is two years old. You would get better info starting your own new thread with your own question and information.

P.S. there is no way to tell you about scholarships when you have provided NO information about your high school performance or standardized test scores…or if you are an international student, or not.

???

Are you asking if you’re likely to get a scholarship? We need more info. What state are you in? what are your test scores and GPA (include SAT breakdown). What is your major? How much can your family pay?

If you’re an int’l, then your chances are smaller since less scholarships are available. And, rarely would an int’l get enough merit to pay for ALL costs.

YUJ…again…I suggest that you start a brand new thread for your own questions. Right now you are tagging your questions onto a thread that is over two years old with information that is irrelevant or out of date.

Mom2 has given you good advice on what to include in a thread that could potentially get you some answers to your questions.
