I've been accepted at USC (woohoo!), but so far have not heard anything about scholarships. I've logged into the Caravan RSVP site, and there is nothing on it about the Presidential or Trustee scholarships. I'm betting right now that I did not get one, but there is always a chance ;)

My question is about the International Freshman Academic scholarship (that's a mouthful...). I am an international student from Canada, so I assume I would be eligible for this scholarship. Apparently there is no interview for it, and the notification date is April 2.

When do you think I could expect to hear if I got this scholarship?

As well, does anybody know how many are given out usually? The USC site doesn't even say "Number of Awards", so they are really leaving me in the dark.

Thanks for the help!

Edit: Ah one more question. Apparently two phases of acceptances have been sent out... mine was sent Feb 2 and I just recently got it because I'm a ways away. Is mine part of the first or second phase? Thanks.

Unless I'm missing something, didn't you just answer your own question?

As far as the numbers given out, I would speculate that there aren't too many, almost certainly less than the number of Trustee and Presidential scholarships. My guess would be somewhere between 25 and 75.

Well the notification date for the Trustee and Presidential scholarships is also April 2nd, and the notification date for acceptance is like April 1st, so I assumer those are the latest date you will hear by. I was wondering roughly when those scholarships would begin to be sent out?

I sent them an email asking if they had any other details, eg. number offered etc. Waiting for their reply...I would call but the last time I did that I had to wait till 1am for office hours and then I was told I had 12 people ahead of me.

The notification date is technically April second... I know I got my trustee notification later than that, and they wouldn't tell me on the phone until I got it. Argh!

I just phoned the USC Admission's Office, and they said that they are mailing out all scholarships within the next two weeks. I didn't ask specifically about the International or Presidential or Trustee scholarships, but I guess if you don't get one within the next three weeks or so you won't be getting one. The other thing they said is that you should hear about the scholarships by mail (not email or online), so if you haven't heard about a scholarship on the Caravan RSVP site, that doesn't necessarily mean you haven't got one yet.

Also, they said you cannot get more than one scholarship (i.e. if you could get two scholarship, they will usually give you the higher one).

I didn't want to make a new thread, so I'll just put my question here.

I assume that Trustee/Presidential/Deans scholarships are four-year scholarships (or however long it takes to finish undergraduate. Is the same true for International Freshman Academic scholarships? Is the same true for ALL merit-based scholarships?

Foil-
I think when admissions told you they are mailing out all scholarships within the next two weeks, they were only talking about Presidential/Trustee. Because when I called, they told me they would not mail out Deans/Associate scholarships until around April 1.

Well some people on this board have already received Deans scholarships, so some must be coming now. Do you know if all the merit-based scholarships are for four-years?

abclichi: Last year, I believe roughly 50% of those that were asked to interview received others. Others were downgraded to Presidential, and some did not get it.
