<p>rice is a "best buy" school. Tuition is very cheap compared to other comparable institutions. I do believe I read somewhere that said rice meets 100% of need based aid.</p>
<p>100% needbased aid for US citizens only, internationals are excluded i think. </p>

<p>you're right....that's what i meant...besides, int'ls don't have need-based aid bc they screen them before they even apply. And if you dont have enough money, then you're automatically rejected.</p>
<p>Rice has a large minority presence and around 30% of students are on financial aid(and yes, Rice meets 100% of your determined need). </p>
<p>It isn't a "white preppy" community at all.</p>
